A pretty okay two minute short gets needlessly stretched to nearly double that and suffers for it. Yeah, I know three and half minutes doesn’t sound all that much longer but it certainly feels that much longer. The story of a guy watching alien invasion conspiracy stuff on the internet that isn’t so crazy after all seems pretty much done at the two minute mark, but then there’s another 90 seconds that simply repeats the same kind of quick scare scene there’s already been a few of over and over (and over).
Before Outbreak starts repeating itself, though, it’s amusing enough for the brief runtime. There’s a good forward energy, a simple enough premise to follow, the music has a fun Stranger Things-vibe, and the “scope” is respectable. If you have a spare few minutes see the link below to come to your own conclusions!

Also, if you’re into giving shorts of varying lengths a shot there are a few others to peruse from the same writer/director as Outbreak at the short film tag below–specifically Woman in White, Not Alone, Smiling Woman, and Do Not Open. There are definitely worse ways to spend a few minutes at a time so have at them!
