A new witch-themed bar and restaurant created by the former creative director of Halloween Haunt is set to open this Spring across the street from Knott’s Berry Farm.

Lara Hanneman, the creative force behind Haunt for more than a decade, has turned her blood-soaked point-of-view toward a new project that’s guaranteed to be of interest to hard-core HorrorBuzz fans. Her partner, Andrew Strain, has more than two decades experience in theatrical and show lighting installations. Together they have launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to bring their nightmare project to completion.

Lara describes the new haunted bar and restaurant this way:

The Cauldron Spirits and Brews provides a dark fairy tale witch-themed sanctuary for the ultimate sensory experience with unpretentious sophistication through a variety of fresh quality cocktails, local craft brews and familiar yet unexpected tastes presented with impeccable service in a comfortable, social atmosphere.

The Cauldron tantalizes your senses and your taste buds. The intimate setting features a dark and cozy atmosphere with eclectic antiques and overstuffed chairs. Persian rugs soften the cold, stone floor. Large wooden beams protrude from the ceiling. Ornately-framed vintage illustrations of witches and black cats hang from the mud-plastered walls. A warm fire in a Tudor fireplace with a boiling cauldron welcomes guests and encourages casual conversation among family, friends and colleagues. The haunted library of an Edwardian manor lays hidden behind floor to ceiling bookshelves. A secret passage leads to a secluded dining room for private affairs.

The menu includes French Provincial-style bites and hearty home-cooked comfort food with a wicked twist. Hearty home-cooked comfort food complements a selection of specialty drinks and themed beverages. Farmhouse tables encourage sharing and sampling. Entree sizes can be adjusted depending on the number of people in your party.

Our bartenders prepare craft cocktails that evoke the magical aura of wizardry, witchcraft and enchanted spells. These potions will make your spine shiver and your taste buds quiver. A rotating selection of craft beers and California wines are also available.

The Cauldron has set their GoFundMe campaign with a fundraising goal of $250,000. Your contributions will allow the Cauldron team to create the visual FX and pay for contractors to help change the location from a retail space to a full blown functioning kitchen and bar.
