E3 Expo 2021 has officially kicked off today, June 12th, and already on the first day, we’re being flooded with tons of news about upcoming games! One of the many things that’s been displayed so far comes from today’s Ubisoft Forward: Rainbow Six Extraction will officially be launching on September 16th!
Previously known to us as Rainbow Six Quarantine, this impending tactical co-op action made its very first gameplay debut, giving viewers and fans of the series an idea of what’s to come. Rainbow Six Extraction is described as the “next mainline game in the Rainbow Six franchise,” which not only will add new features and gameplay opportunities, but also expands on elements from the previous installment, Rainbow Six Siege.
Rainbow Six Extraction will play as a PvE co-op where three players compose a squad of Rainbow Six Operators. The players can pick and choose from a roster of 18 operators, all unique in skills, weapons, and overall playstyle. Responsible for confronting a massive alien threat known as Archæans, players will have to try new strategies and combinations in order to eventually contain the threat in each of Extraction’s 12 maps.
Ubisoft presented a gameplay deep dive, showing how players will be dropped directly into alien territory, with commentary and full audio descriptions. The video was released on the Ubisoft YouTube channel.
Rainbow Six Extraction is coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, the Ubisoft Store on Windows PC, and Stadia on September 16th. On top of that, the game is included with Ubisoft+, the Ubisoft subscription service.
If you already own Rainbow Six Siege and purchase Rainbow Six Extraction, its entire roster of 18 Operators will be unlocked for you in Rainbow Six Siege, along with a United Front cosmetic bundle for both games.
One of the best parts of it all? Rainbow Six Extraction will support cross-play and cross-save across all platforms, a move that fans everywhere, on all platforms, can appreciate.
