RIP HORROR FILM FESTIVAL returns to celebrate its fourth season in Southern California with a special Filmmaker Spotlight featuring L.A. independent film director Chris Morrissey. Two of Morrissey’s feature films will screen during the four day film festival. The festival will take place at the LOS FELIZ 3 CINEMAs, November 10th through November 13th, 2016. In addition to film screenings, the festival will also feature Q&A panel discussions, and celebrity guest appearances.
Chris Morrissey’s newest film Heavy Makeup will kick off the festival opening night, with a celebrity red carpet premiere event at 8:00pm, Thursday, November 10th. Morrissey will introduce the film and participate in a Q&A with actress Share Cherrie. Heavy Makeup is a campy twisted thriller about a serial killer stalking Hollywood actresses. The film stars indie scream queen Share Cherrie (Superstar Female Serial Killer, Joe Wheeler’s Jengo Hooper), Whitney Quinlan (Beverly Hills Ghost Club), Jessica Velle (It’s Not Me, It’s You!) and Gia Franzia (Condo Hell, Miss Nobody).
Morrissey’s award-winning supernatural chiller Trick of the Witch will screen on Saturday, November 12th at 10:00pm with the director and cast members attending to introduce the film. Trick of the Witch centers on a group of fashion models fighting an evil witchcraft curse while stranded at a secluded mansion during a photo shoot. The film also stars Share Cherrie, Owen Alabado (Showtime’s Shameless) Suzy Cote (TV’s CSI, The Guardian) and Rebecca Da Costa (Mine Games). Trick of the Witch previously won the Best Horror Film Award and the Audience Award at the New York International Independent Film Festival in 2010.
