The creative minds behind Terrifier 2 and The Mean One are joining forces with Iconic Events Releasing to bring a new flavor of horror and humor to the silver screen with SCREAMBOAT, slated for release in 2025. Steven Menkin, President and Co-Founder of Iconic Events, expressed excitement about providing a platform for filmmakers like Steven LaMorte to bring their unique visions to a broad audience.

SCREAMBOAT promises to be an uproarious yet terrifying parody of the classic Steamboat Willie, featuring a malevolent mini-mouse causing chaos on a New York City ferry. The film, beginning production this spring, is set against the iconic New York skyline and aims to blend horror with dark comedy through its innovative use of practical effects and cutting-edge virtual production.

Director Steven LaMorte is enthusiastic about the collaboration, stating that SCREAMBOAT will allow audiences to experience the thrills and spills of a horror-comedy as it is meant to be seen—on the big screen. The production team includes horror veterans like Steven Della Salla and Michael Leavy of Terrifier 2 fame, ensuring a blend of laughter and screams in what promises to be an unforgettable cinematic experience.

Adding to the film’s allure, creature effects are being crafted by Christian Beckman’s Quantum Creation FX, with designs by renowned concept artist Christian Cordella. This monstrous version of the famed cartoon mouse will be realized through a mix of classic puppetry and prosthetic makeup, creating a spectacle sure to captivate horror and comedy fans alike.
