Serial Killer Speed Dating will rear its head next Wednesday October 14th from 8-10 pm at Bar Food LA in Westwood. That’s right…this time, there’s drinks!

Serial Killer Speed Dating had its debut at ScareLA in August. People met, speed-dated and occasionally got murdered. It was awesome.

The response was so strong that I decided to put it on again.

I am calling this “Murder Mystery Theater meets Speed Dating,” and after doing it once I’ve noticed a few things I wanted to share with you:

We have so much in common!

1.) The people who sign up are wonderful. Based on who I’ve met and what I’ve seen at ScareLA, the people who sign up for SKSD love horror movies, haunted houses, and a little bit of blood in their wine.

2.) You have your opening line already: “I’m not a serial killer.” Solid conversation starter.

3.) Bar Food’s got 200 whiskeys and 30 beers on draft. Happy hour ends at 8pm, so get there early and snag a $4 craft beer, $7 craft cocktail or a $6 well. Liquid courage!

4.) This is a game, people! Up to you to figure out if the person you’re sitting across from is a serial killer or not. Kind of hard to have a boring time if your date might murder you.

5.) There will be blood. Need I say more? Someone’s gonna die. Maybe your date. Who knows? Gonna keep you on your toes.

6.) Find a partner-in-crime. Like I said before, the people who’ll be there are genuinely awesome. What if you meet that special someone next Wednesday who wants nothing more than to check out Bats Day with you, line up for Friday Night Frights at Cinefamily, or chill at home with the “Nightmare” boxed set? Super romantic.

Ahh…modern romance.

7.) It ain’t virtual. Tinder…J-Swipe…Coffee Meets Bagel…Farmers Only…the list goes on and on and on and on. Every month a new dating site comes around. Sure, it’s easy to sit at home in your underwear and swipe right at everyone, but that ain’t dating. Put on pants, comb your hair and take a chance. It gets the heart pumping.
