Please Cthulhu. We ask that the new movie from  Writer/director/producer M. Night Shyamalan’s,  Split, is as good as the trailer.  We beseech you that the movie be as good, if not better than Signs, Unbreakable or, dare we dream, The Sixth Sense. It is an original thriller that delves into the mysterious recesses of one man’s fractured, gifted mind and it shows great promise.

We are given encouragement as last year’s breakout hit The Visit, was a fun return to form when Shyamalan reunited with producer Jason Blum (The Purge and Insidious series, The Gift) for the film.

We have faith that Kevin (Oscar Nominee, James McAvoy), is a terrifying new character portrayed by a fiercely talented actor. In the film, Kevin has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teenage girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy, The Witch), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all of those contained within him—as well as everyone around him—as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.

We believe that M. Night is on the path, back to enlightenment, far from his dark days in the valley of “Lady in the Water” and The Happening”. Keep him focused, keep him scary.
