MV5BMjQwODQ1MTM1MF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwODUwNzY5NjE@._V1_SX214_AL_Tales of Halloween is an anthology film all about all hell breaking loose in a small town on Halloween. With 11 directors contributing to it, we get 10 different perspectives and stories that take place on that night. This is a great new addition to the Horror genre for “Halloween” movies (and I mean films that revolve around the holiday, not just the franchise starring Michael Myers). There are other films that fit perfectly in that category, such as Trick ‘r Treat, Halloween, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Ginger Snaps, Night of the Demons, Hocus Pocusand many more. In this film you can truly feel the LOVE for Halloween projected into it from the filmmakers. I absolutely loved how they all worked together on each other segments and included many people of the LA Horror community in the film. It shows the love and passion for the genre and Halloween. After waiting months in anticipation, ever since the filmmakers announced the making of the film and seeing my fellow fiends post pictures on set, the wait was WORTH IT! What put the cherry on top  was seeing it with all the people who worked together to create it, and people who love the genre at ScreamFest.

TalesofHalloween3

The film features ten fun shorts, each one carrying on the craziness of the genre and traditions of Halloween. From demons, monsters, devilish fiends, ghosts, killer jack-o-lanterns, aliens, children, freaks and halloween fiends… this film has it all with a wonderful variety of stories. They all correlate well with each other, and it is great seeing the same characters make appearances in all the shorts. There is nothing separating them but fading to black and then onto the next story. They are all fun, scary, crazy, funny, and will leave you at the edge of your seat to see what happens at the end.

TalesofHalloween5

There are so many genre stars from the classics to new films featured and making cameos in the movie. From John Landis, Joe Dante, Adam Green, Lyn Shaye, Mick Garris, Keir Gilchrist, John Savage, and many others. Seeing them on the silver screen, even in small roles, makes you smile. Even seeing Ben Woolf as his devilish character, RIP Ben Woolf, will make you smile as he is wonderfully fiendish on the big screen.

TalesofHalloween2

Overall, this film is so much fun and I highly recommend it if you love horror and Halloween. This is a wonderful love letter to the genre made by people with passion for the film. This movie is perfect for the season, so be sure to check it out on Friday, fiends! From start to finish, this film will make you smile with all of its craziness of evil Jack-o-Lanterns attacking people, two guys having a yard Halloween display battle, sweet revenge, and much more chaotic happenings.
