We always knew they would be back. The question was when. Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprise their roles as fighters of fate in the new trailer for TERMINATOR: Dark Fate. James Cameron returns to the helm as producer bringing David Ellison along for the ride. Tim Miller,  (DEADPOOL) will be directing from a story that is credited to no less than 5 writers including  James Cameron, Charles H. Eglee, Josh Friedman, David S. Goyer, and Justin Rhodes, and a screenplay by David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Billy Ray. Along with the two original stars, the film will also feature Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta.

Synopsis: Linda Hamilton (“Sarah Connor”) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (“T-800”) return in their iconic roles in Terminator: Dark Fate, directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and produced by visionary filmmaker James Cameron and David Ellison. Following the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator: Dark Fate also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta.

Okay. So, yes there is brutal hand-to-hand combat here. Yes the band is back together again with Hamilton and Schwarzenegger. But after so many time arcs and loopholes, where can they go now? They appear to be wiping the slate clean and going back to following up after the events of Terminator 2: Judgement day which is a promising move. I mean, it worked for Halloween, Right? Too, Cameron is back as producer and Deadpool’s Tim Miller is directing, so…

Really, if there is anyone that can bring the spark of life back to this franchise it is Cameron and we are willing to give this a look. However, you will have to wait until the end of the year to get a peek at the next Terminator chapter, so unless you have a time machine, you need to grow some patience.
