Horror icons John Carpenter and George A. Romero come together in a unique collaboration with the graphic novel adaptation of Romero’s The Amusement Park. Based on Romero’s once-lost 1975 film, the novel will be released by Storm King Comics on May 7, 2025. Originally created as a public service announcement about ageism, The Amusement Park explores the haunting realities of aging through Romero’s signature horror lens.
The graphic novel, adapted by writer Jeff Whitehead and illustrator Ryan Carr, reimagines Romero’s surreal commentary on societal treatment of the elderly. The project is supported by the George A. Romero Foundation, which restored the original film to critical acclaim. The partnership with John Carpenter and Storm King Comics brings Romero’s vision to a new generation, with Carpenter praising the opportunity to honor his fellow horror legend’s work.
The Amusement Park will be available in comic stores and online starting May 7, 2025, and through all booksellers by May 20, 2025.
