Storm King Comics, under its John Carpenter Presents Storm Kids imprint, is set to release The Ghost Whiskerers, a middle-grade graphic novel by Thomas F. Zahler, on February 5, 2025. Combining supernatural intrigue with heartwarming storytelling, the book explores themes of friendship, family, and the mysteries of the afterlife.

The Ghost Whiskerers follows Daniel, a young boy navigating a new life after his family moves from Boston to a sprawling, old house in Tacoma, Washington. While struggling to adjust to his new school, Daniel finds solace in his two cats, Mal and Halloween, who reveal an extraordinary secret: the house is a portal to the afterlife, and they guide spirits to the next realm. When a particularly stubborn ghost refuses to move on, Daniel is drawn into an adventure that connects him to this mysterious world in unexpected ways.

“Thom has created a big-hearted, vastly entertaining story with candy-colored artwork that balances humor, mystery, and emotional depth,” said Storm King Comics founder Sandy King.

Written for readers aged 8 and up, the graphic novel is the latest addition to the Storm Kids line, designed specifically for younger audiences. The Ghost Whiskerers will debut in comic book stores and direct markets on February 5, 2025, with availability at bookstores and online retailers starting February 18, 2025.
