The meta-universe comedy-fantasy Time Travel Is Dangerous is set to make its world premiere at the 31st Austin Film Festival on October 26th, where it will compete in the Comedy Vanguard Feature section. A teaser trailer and poster have been released to celebrate the premiere, giving audiences an early glimpse of the time-bending adventure.
Within five days, the film will also make its European premiere at the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival and its UK premiere at Pigeon Shrine FrightFest Halloween on November 2nd.
Directed by Chris Reading and co-written by the acclaimed Shakespeare Sisters, Time Travel Is Dangerous stars an ensemble cast of British comedy talent including Johnny Vegas, Sophie Thompson, Jane Horrocks, Mark Heap, Tony Way, Tom Lenk, and is narrated by Stephen Fry.
The story follows best friends Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson, who run a vintage shop in Muswell Hill, London. Their accidental discovery of a time machine allows them to collect quirky artifacts from the past. However, their excursions create unintended consequences, leading to an interdimensional rift that forces Ruth to venture into a chaotic netherworld to save Megan.
As the film prepares for its back-to-back premieres, director Chris Reading expressed his excitement about debuting in Austin, a city known for its vibrant comedy scene, while the Shakespeare Sisters noted their eagerness to showcase the film across three international festivals.
