Step into some blue overalls and grab your goggles because Universal Studios Hollywood will be kicking off their first ever “Running Universal” fun run event with an inaugural 5K featuring your favorite Minions.

The inaugural Minion Run, featuring Illumination’s mischievous Minions from the popular “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” ride, will invite participants 5 years and older to wiggle and waddle through the Hollywood theme park and into parts of Universal Studios’ historic backlot.

Participants will have the opportunity to receive an unprecedented insider’s view of the sets and sound stages that were used in over 8,000 movies and television shows.

Runners will start at the park’s front gates and make their way through 3.1 miles of immersive and fun attractions on their way to the finish line at CityWalk’s 5 Towers outdoor concert stage. Minions and humans alike will be able to celebrate the run with live music, food and post-race swag.

Running Universal will take place on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The race will begin at 6am and culminate at 7:30am with an awards and closing ceremony.
