At Universal Studios Hollywood, the “scares” were traded in for “cares” as the company held its 16th annual “Day of Giving” philanthropy outreach event. Nearly 300 homeless children from Operation School Bell were invited to the theme park for the special event. Without a single monster or whisp of fog in sight, tents sprang up just outside the theme park’s front gate and the guests were given special school supplies, a new set of clothes, shoes, and even a book to read in the hopes of giving back to the less fortunate in the Los Angeles area. Then, they got to play in the park and check out the new ride “The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash!”

Universal Studios Hollywood's Day of Giving - 2021
The inspirational “Day of Giving” event is a yearly Universal Studios Hollywood tradition designed to connect employees with diverse community organizations, many of which are beneficiaries of the company’s in-house philanthropic organization, Discover A Star Foundation whose mission is to empower individuals and families to lead more productive and fulfilling lives. The day-long event will also support several other non-profit organizations across Los Angeles, including Covenant House, MEND Foodbank, The Foster Children’s Resource Center, and Project Angel Food.
