UNIVERSE25 is set to make its debut at Slamdance 2025 on February 23 and 24 in Hollywood, California. This new horror-infused musical drama, directed by Richard Melkonian in his feature debut, follows Mott (portrayed by Giacomo Gex), an angel from the future who arrives on Earth under cryptic orders. A young postal clerk in a UK dead letter office discovers Mott’s manuscript, unveiling a surreal quest across Britain and Romania to perform three sacred tasks before the impending end of the world.
Melkonian’s film explores a dystopian sci-fi framework through a fable of self-discovery. Mott wrestles with the pressures of his divine origin, questioning his immortality amid gritty encounters and ominous phone calls from an unidentified entity. Accompanied by an all-original soundtrack, UNIVERSE25 merges otherworldly elements with human vulnerability, offering a uniquely atmospheric take on the horror and musical genres.
