Relativity EuropaCorp Distribution has just released a new trailer for D.J. Caruso’s upcoming psychological-thriller, The Disappointments Room. The trailer paints the picture of an understated supernatural horror film that seems to touch upon many of those elements of paranoia and psychosis that are both currently in vogue and prevalent in Caruso’s prior work. There are some visually-captivating shots crafted under the keen eye of Rogier Stoffers, veteran cinematographer that previously collaborated with Caruso on 2007’s Disturbia. The film follows Dana (Kate Beckinsale) and David (Mel Raido) who move from Brooklyn to a once-grand southern mansion with their 5 year old son looking for a fresh start. But Dana’s discovery of a secret room unleashes unexplainable events that test her sanity and slowly reveal the home’s terrifying past.

The film stars Kate Beckinsale (Underworld series), Mel Raido (Legend), Lucas Till (X-Men Apocalypse), and Gerald McRaney (Focus) and will be in theaters nationwide on September 9th.
