Viva Pictures has secured the U.S. distribution rights for Night of the Zoopocalypse, an animated family comedy set to debut at the Sitges Film Festival on October 6, 2024. Directed by Ricardo Curtis and Rodrigo Perez-Castro, both veterans of the animation industry, the film promises a blend of spooky adventure and humor for family audiences.

Inspired by a concept from renowned genre author Clive Barker, Night of the Zoopocalypse follows a group of zoo animals who must stop a virus that turns their fellow creatures into dangerous mutants. David Harbour, known for his roles in Stranger Things and Thunderbolts, voices a mountain lion leading the rescue mission alongside a wolf voiced by Gabbi Kosmidis. The voice cast also includes Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall) and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (The Mandalorian).

The film will be released in theaters across North America on March 7, 2025. In Canada, it will be distributed by Elevation Pictures. Laura Prieto, Vice President of Acquisitions at Viva Pictures, expressed excitement over the acquisition, calling the film “a perfect mix of spooky, fun, and adventure” for families.
