In a spooky twist for die-hard fans of Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion, a chilling reunion is set to take place at the Ghostly Retreat just seven miles away from the iconic theme park. Despite the Haunted Mansion’s temporary closure, aficionados can revel in a unique experience at WELCOME FOOLISH MORTALS: A Haunted Mansion Reunion on Sunday, February 25th, starting at 1:00 pm.
Admission not only grants access to the Ghostly Retreat but also includes an exclusive original print of Haunted Mansion-inspired artwork, crafted by a Disney illustrator exclusively for this event. Guests will have the chance to meet special guests, including former Imagineer Tania Norris, known for designing the iconic purple wallpaper, and Joe Lanzisero, design lead on MYSTIC MANOR in Hong Kong Disneyland.
Other notable appearances include animatronics master Garner Holt, responsible for props and animatronics in HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY, director Kirk Thatcher of MUPPETS HAUNTED MANSION fame, and Disney illustrator Rick Law. Attendees will have the opportunity to get autographs on their exclusive artwork, creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake.
Jeff Schiefelbein, inspired by the Haunted Mansion, created the Ghostly Retreat, an Airbnb with intricate details and effects. Typically available only to overnight guests, this event grants rare access, allowing fans to come dressed in Haunted Mansion-inspired attire for unique photo sessions. Schiefelbein will be present to answer questions about the creation of this truly one-of-a-kind retreat.
