Are you afraid of the dark? You should be. The infamous Winchester Mystery House is offering a special tour for those brave enough to enter for one night in December.
The Winchester Mystery House, located in San Jose CA, will host its popular Flashlight Tour for one night only on Friday December 13, 2019. During the Flashlight Tour, guests will be guided through the mansion while they hear unnerving stories of the home’s haunted history. Tickets, which include a souvenir flashlight, are $49 and on sale now on their website. Times are available from 5:30pm until midnight.
“After a spectacular Halloween season with the premiere of Unhinged, we are thrilled to provide guests with one more opportunity to experience Winchester Mystery House at night this year,” says Walter Magnuson, Winchester Mystery House General Manager. “Our Flashlight Tours are a highly-anticipated event, and provide a rare chance for a haunted history tour in one of the world’s most haunted homes after dark.”
Sarah Winchester was supposedly obsessed with the number 13—the mansion has 13 bathrooms, 13 fireplaces, and 13 steps in each flight of stairs. In celebration of this, Winchester Mystery House only offers Flashlight Tours on Friday the 13th. Also occurring every Friday the 13th is the bell ringing ceremony. This year on Friday, December 13, one lucky guest will be selected to ring the historic bell 13 times at 1 p.m. (the 13th hour) in honor of Sarah Winchester. To be selected, guests are encouraged to share their favorite (or strangest!) memory or experience at Winchester Mystery House along with their own photo of the house.
