The popular thriller series, YOU, has kept its audience on the edge of their seats since it premiered on Netflix in December 2018. The show introduced us to Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager with a twisted mind, who goes to any extent to get the love of his life. And now, after four successful seasons, the series is coming to an end with its fifth season.

The upcoming season will finally reveal whether Joe Goldberg, the infamous character played by Penn Badgley, will get his judgment day or not. Fans are eagerly waiting to know the fate of the killer, who has managed to escape justice in the past four seasons.

The showrunner Sera Gamble, who brilliantly led the series through four riveting seasons, is passing the baton to the new co-showrunners Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo. However, Sera will continue to be an executive producer on the series.

Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, executive producers of the show, said, “Ever since our friends at Alloy shared Caroline Kepnes’ fantastic book, we have always conceived it as a five-season journey. We are excited to continue our relationship with Mike and Justin as they take over the reins as co-showrunners and prepare to bring Joe Goldberg home.”

Peter Friedlander, Vice President of Scripted Series, Netflix, US and Canada, said, “YOU became an instant sensation on Netflix with a resounding cultural impact that has grown season over season. We’re excited — and a bit terrified — to see how it all ends for Joe Goldberg, but one thing is for sure: YOU are in for an unforgettable ending.”

Sera Gamble said, “I’m excited to watch and support the You team as they bring Joe Goldberg’s journey to its delightfully twisted conclusion.”

Based on the book series by Caroline Kepnes, YOU was developed by Sera Gamble and Greg Berlanti. The executive producers of season four are Greg Berlanti, Sera Gamble, Sarah Schechter, Leslie Morgenstein, Gina Girolamo, John Scott, Michael Foley, Neil Reynolds, Justin W. Lo, and Lee Toland Krieger.

The first four seasons of the Warner Bros. Television’s YOU are now streaming globally on Netflix.

As we wait for more details about the fifth season, one thing is certain – it will be a rollercoaster ride of emotions and a perfect end to Joe Goldberg’s story.
