Film Movement will release Love Kills, a neon-soaked vampire romance from Brazil, on VOD, leading digital platforms, and Film Movement Plus on October 30, 2026.

Every night, a mysterious woman in immaculate clothes takes the same corner seat in a grimy São Paulo café, ordering a coffee she never drinks. Marcos (Gabriel Stauffer), a downtrodden waiter in constant trouble with his sadistic boss (Marat Descartes), cannot take his eyes off her. When Helena (Thais Lago) appears to be in danger, he rushes to her rescue, only to learn she never needed saving. She is a centuries-old vampire on the run from a rival clan of immortals, and Marcos is soon drawn into a glamorous, blood-soaked underworld hidden in plain sight, and a romance that may cost him his life.

Adapted from Danilo Beyruth’s acclaimed Brazilian graphic novel, the film marks the solo directing debut of Luiza Shelling Tubaldini, who also wrote the screenplay. Tubaldini uses vampirism as a lens on outcast women, trauma, and survival, turning downtown São Paulo into a neon-lit gothic fable. The cast also includes Iuri Saraiva and Erom Cordeiro. Andre Skaf and Tubaldini produced, with cinematography by Jacob Solitrenick.

Love Kills won Best Sound at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, where it was also nominated for Best Film, and was an Official Selection of the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival and the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival. The 95-minute film is in Portuguese with English subtitles.
