With summer nearing its end, it’s almost time to Awaken the Spirits! The talented team behind Midsummer Scream has regrouped amid the pandemic chaos and produced an all-new pop-up event that is COVID friendly and gives Halloween, horror, and haunt fans a preview of what is coming for the 2021 season. A schedule of panels and vendors has been released ahead of the event, giving all good boys and ghouls a tantalizing peek at what’s to come this August 14-15, 2021 at the Pasadena Convention Center
Kickstarting the day on Saturday, August 14 is a special panel commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the feature film Thir13en Ghosts. This exciting panel will include Producer Erik Olsen, Special Makeup Effects Designers Howard Berger and Norman Cabrera from KNB EFX Group, and Composer John Frizell. Also featured on Saturday are highly anticipated panels from Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights, Winchester Mystery House, LA Haunted Hayride, and Delusion: Reaper’s Remorse.
Sunday, August 15 boasts panels from Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest, the voice and mo-cap cast from horror video game Resident Evil: Village, a 30th Anniversary retrospective of legendary home haunt Rotten Apple 907, and a deep dive into how Epic Entertainment and Mycotoo (the teams behind Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor) bring horrifying creature and stories to life.
If that weren’t enough, both Saturday and Sunday will conclude with a 60 MINUTE Home Haunt Update where fans can catch the latest updates and plans for the 2021 comeback on Southern California’s most elaborate, imaginative, and hauntingly beautiful home-grown Halloween attractions. All weekend long, guests are encouraged to explore the expansive show floor, featuring over 200 spooky vendors and ghoulish displays. There’s even a BRAND NEW mysterious activation experience from Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights that will put your horror fandom (and nerve) to the test. This is a first for HHN in the realm of convention attractions and definitely not to be missed!
