Bayview Entertainment has announced the acquisition of the award-winning surreal horror-drama Compression, written and directed by Jakob Bilinski (Three Tears on Bloodstained Flesh) and co-written by Peter Matsoukas.

The film centers on Hazel, portrayed by Emily Durchholz, an agoraphobic true crime podcaster who has isolated herself inside her apartment for years. After a drug-induced experience fractures her sense of reality, Hazel is forced to confront distorted memories and physical manifestations of her trauma. What unfolds is a psychological descent where literal and symbolic threats collide over the course of a single night.
Following a strong festival run, Compression emerged as the most decorated feature at the 2024 HorrorHound Film Festival, earning seven awards including Best Picture, Best Director for Bilinski, Best Lead Performance for Durchholz, and Best Cinematography.
Supporting performances include Kevin Roach and Michele Rose. Produced by Cinephreak Pictures and Rockscar Films, the film blends psychological realism with stylized, surreal imagery to explore themes of grief, mental health, and isolation.
Release details from Bayview Entertainment are expected soon.
