MVD Entertainment will release Bunker Heights, a crime-horror-comedy creature feature from filmmaker Drew Fortier (Dwellers, Attack of Life: The Bang Tango Movie), worldwide on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital on October 13, 2026.
Set in a once-thriving Midwestern city overrun by corruption and organized crime, the film follows burned-out homicide detective Derek Tucker, played by Fortier, as a routine investigation turns into a nightmare involving a botched bank robbery, a political assassination, and a horrifying secret beneath the city streets. The pitch is “C.H.U.D. meets Lethal Weapon,” and the film wears its debts to C.H.U.D., The Return of the Living Dead, and Tremors openly, leaning on practical creature effects by Deryk Wehrley (Zombieland: Double Tap, Fear Clinic) rather than digital shortcuts.
The cast includes Hannah Fierman (V/H/S), Chaney Morrow (Haunt), Paul T. Taylor (Hellraiser: Judgment), Floyd Ewing Jr. (The Dead Next Door), and James L. Edwards (Bloodletting), with appearances from Violent J of Insane Clown Posse, Vinnie Dombroski of Sponge, and former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson, who also executive produces. Portions of the film were shot at Tennessee’s Old Historic Harriman Hospital, a reportedly haunted former hospital featured on Destination Fear.
The two-disc Limited Edition Blu-ray carries the 106-minute Director’s Cut, an exclusive 121-minute Extended Cut with additional creature material, and Amateur Hacks: Making Bunker Heights, an 80-minute documentary with nearly 30 cast and crew interviews. It also includes reversible cover art by Alex Sarabia and a limited edition slipcover.
A special screening with a Drew Fortier and Hannah Fierman Q&A takes place September 29, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. at Kan-Kan Cinema in Indianapolis.
Bunker Heights arrives on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital October 13, 2026. Pre-order at bunkerheights.com.
