Freestyle Digital Media has acquired theatrical and VOD rights to the animated fantasy feature Dragon Heart: Adventures Beyond This World, scheduling its U.S. digital debut for March 3, 2026. The film previously received a wide theatrical rollout across Japan in 2025 through Nikkatsu Corporation before making its way stateside on digital HD, cable, DVD, and satellite platforms.
Directed by Isamu Imakake and written and produced by Ryuho Okawa, the story follows Tokyo junior high student Ryusuke and his cousin Tomomi, who are transported to the spirit world after a sudden accident. Offered a chance to return to life, the pair must uncover their true purpose while navigating a mysterious town filled with danger and existential questions. Japanese voice talent includes Yusuke Kobayashi and Chinatsu Hirose, while the English dub features Zach Aguilar and Ren Holly Liu. Imakake described the film as a journey through an unknown spiritual realm designed to immerse viewers in a story that encourages reflection on one’s understanding of the world.
