Today we share the poster, trailer for Magnificent Films’ new vampire feature, Drained. Co-directed by Sean Cronin and Peter Stylianou, Drained makes its North American debut on January 28, 2025. Released via Level 33 Entertainment, the film is now available on VOD through Amazon, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, and other digital platforms.
Drained brings a neon-noir aesthetic to London’s streets, following Thomas (Ruaridh Aldington), a struggling post-graduate artist who becomes entangled with Rhea (Madalina Bellariu Ion), an enigmatic vampire. As their relationship develops, Thomas’s health begins to decline, reflecting the film’s deeper exploration of modern addictive influences.
Premiered at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival, Drained also features performances by Craig Conway, Angela Dixon, Andrew Lyle-Pinnock, Natasha Patel, Andrew Lee Potts, Diana Yekinni, Ayvianna Snow, Kenton Lloyd Morgan, and Timothy Blore. The production design is led by Ellie Campbell, with cinematography by Daniel Patrick Vaughan and special makeup effects by Francesca Reidie.
“This vampiric romance reflects how modern life can be draining, whether through social media or other unhealthy habits,” adds Stylianou.
Bellariu Ion also shares her perspective: “Growing up in Transylvania, it was a dream come true to portray a vampire. The blend of fantasy horror and gritty realism made this film truly unforgettable.”
Drained makes its North American debut on January 28, 2025.
