Eli Roth’s horror‑centric studio The Horror Section has partnered with international short‑film platform WeShort to introduce HorrorShorts, a worldwide script competition seeking fresh voices across every corner of the genre. Writers are invited to submit original, unpublished live‑action short film scripts—no AI‑generated or borrowed material allowed—for the chance to see their stories produced as WeShort Originals and developed further by Roth’s team.

WeShort will curate ten finalists who will pitch their concepts in a live virtual session attended by both companies. From there, three winning projects will move into full production, debuting in a dedicated HorrorShorts showcase on the WeShort platform. Each winner will also receive an option for short‑to‑feature development under The Horror Section banner.

“Short films remain the best way to prove you can deliver a feature,” says Roth. “With HorrorShorts we’re giving filmmakers everywhere the opportunity to create powerful proof‑of‑concepts and shepherd them toward feature development.”

WeShort founder Alex Loprieno agrees: “Short form is perfect for high‑impact genre storytelling. Partnering with Eli creates a launchpad for tomorrow’s horror auteurs.”

Dare to dream. Dare to disturb. Submit your nightmare.
