Eli Roth’s The Horror Section has announced the theatrical release of Dream Eater, an award-winning found-footage horror from Canadian filmmaking trio Jay Drakulic, Mallory Drumm, and Alex Lee Williams. The film will debut in U.S. theaters on October 24, 2025, with Vortex Media handling Canadian distribution the same day.

Shot in a remote cabin in the snowy Laurentian mountains, Dream Eater follows documentary filmmaker Mallory (played by Drumm) as she sets out to capture her boyfriend Alex’s (Williams) violent parasomnia on camera. As his condition intensifies, Mallory suspects something darker is at work, leading to a series of escalating nightmares.
The film has earned comparisons to The Blair Witch Project and Paranormal Activity, garnering strong online buzz and winning multiple awards, including Best Feature at the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival. Roth praised the project for achieving what he calls “the holy grail of horror” — a film that genuinely terrifies its audience.
Dream Eater marks the second feature from the Blind Luck Pictures team, building on their DIY filmmaking roots. It follows The Horror Section’s August release of Joe Begos’ Jimmy and Stiggs and continues the company’s mission to champion bold, unrated horror experiences from emerging talent.
