Crypsis was shot over the course of three weeks in the backwoods of Gloucester, Massachusetts. The ambitious cast and crew of 25 were tasked with completing a film that required 21 days shot completely at night. Written by Paul Anthony Rogers, the script began very simply. Not intended to be a horror film by nature, Crypsis became an adventure survival thriller driven by human disagreement when faced with a life or death situation. Cast with all local talent throughout New England, the script required a special group of ambitious, hungry actors willing to improv.
Synopsis: The story follows a group of friends who make a bet to survive on an island. Unbeknownst to them, a mysterious old creature begins hunting them throughout the night. What began as an innocent bet quickly turns into a fight for survival.
