Shudder has premiered the official trailer for Hallowarrior, the post-apocalyptic Halloween home invasion thriller from writer-director Ben Sottak, which begins streaming on Shudder, AMC Networks’ specialized service for horror and thriller content, on Friday, October 16, 2026. Milly Shapiro leads the film alongside Ajani Russell, AJ Bowen, and Shannyn Sossamon.

The story follows Pumpkin, the last girl on earth and the only survivor of a plague that wiped out humanity. On the eve of Halloween she scavenges the wasteland for supplies and keeps her lonely holiday rituals alive, until a savage gang of raiders led by the fearsome Thalia shows up at her door. Outnumbered and armed with candy, wit, and weapons, Pumpkin has to fight back hard enough to survive the night.
Hallowarrior marks Sottak’s feature debut as writer and director. His earlier narrative work has screened at Tribeca, Fantasia, FrightFest, Telluride Horror Show, and Brooklyn Horror Film Festival. Shapiro (Hereditary) is joined by Russell (Betty), Bowen (You’re Next, The Signal), and Sossamon (Sinister 2), who also serves as an executive producer. Steven Jacob Russell handled cinematography.
Early festival notices have been strong. Dread Central’s Ashliene McMenamy called the film “equal parts coming-of-age story, post-apocalyptic thriller, and home invasion film,” adding that it “captures the spirit of the holiday effectively.”
Hallowarrior begins streaming exclusively on Shudder on October 16, 2026.
