Rather than following a traditional streaming-first release, writer/directors Zack Ogle and Aaron Pagniano are taking their independent horror/thriller It Needs Eyes on the road with a grassroots theatrical tour.

Partnering with distributor Insurgence, the filmmakers are bringing the film directly to audiences, beginning in Columbus, Ohio, and expanding along the East Coast. The tour model is designed to bypass what the team describes as limited distribution opportunities for low-budget films, instead opting for in-person screenings, Q&As, special performances, and post-show gatherings.

The film follows Rowan, a teenager who becomes immersed in increasingly disturbing online content. When she discovers references to a missing woman known as “Fish Tooth,” Rowan becomes convinced the woman is reaching out for help through the screen. As her investigation deepens, her digital fixation begins to bleed into real-world danger.
