If Krampus wasn’t terrifying enough in 2D… just wait until you experience him in VR! Step into Krampusnacht… a dark retelling of this classic tale told from the slopes of the Austrian Alps…right from the comfort of your own home! In this virtual tale of morality and mortality, we discover that the brighter the light… the darker the shadow. This all-new holiday VR experience boasts live actors in an immersive setting while featuring a Christmas storyline. Santa isn’t the only one who has been watching you… so you better watch out.

While many holiday happenings have closed their doors due to the pandemic, this unique experience gives guests a chance to travel to Austria virtually this holiday season and view a 50-minute immersive horror-Christmas tale. Guests will arrive at an Austrian visitor center for a tour of a quaint village, only to discover the dark side of Christmas.

An ensemble cast of 5 brings this terrifying tale to life, including Deirdre V. Lyons, from The Under Presents, winner of the VR Awards Best VR Experience of the Year. Lyons’ projects The Under Presents: Tempest was selected as the winner for Best Narrative Experience in the 2020 Rain Dance Film Festival, and Finding Pandora X, was the winner of the Best Immersive Experience at the Venice VR Expanded. Krampusnacht is written by Braden Roy and is produced and directed by Brian Tull (one of HorrorBuzz’s very own!), Braden Roy, Deirdre V. Lyons, and Stephen Butchko.

The VR show will run Saturday, Dec. 19th, and 20th, from 6 pm to 8:30 pm PDT and on Dec. 26th and 27th from 12 pm to 2:30 pm. Intimate audiences will experience chills, thrills while reveling in the charm and merriment of this winter holiday season.

Though Krampusnacht is a holiday celebration, it contains images of violence, horror, language, and dark subject matter and is intended for audiences age 13 and up. Tickets are $20 and are available on Krampusnacht’s website. A VR headset (though not required) is highly recommended for the full experience. Krampusnacht is hosted in VRChat and attendees will be required to download VRChat and create a VRChat account prior to being granted access to the event.

Guests will exclaim as they get tickets for the night… Merry Krampusnacht to all and to all a good fright!
