Thirteenth Floor Entertainment Group’s Magic of the Jack O’Lanterns returns to South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes beginning September 18, running on select nights through November 1, 2026. The family-friendly Halloween experience features more than 10,000 hand-carved pumpkins along a mile-long illuminated trail, making it one of the most visually spectacular Halloween events in Southern California.
This year’s trail brings new themed scenes to the garden’s winding pathways: a whimsical circus, a Día de los Muertos tribute, and an undersea journey — all rendered in glowing carved pumpkin artistry. A synchronized pumpkin light show fires every 30 minutes, while towering inflatables, interactive activities, and seasonal photo ops are spread throughout. Guests can grab 3D Jack O’Lantern Glasses that transform surrounding light sources into glowing pumpkin shapes, or settle in with a S’mores Package around the fire. A Fun Zone offers a pumpkin-shaped bounce pad and oversized pumpkin slides for younger visitors.
A low-sensory night is scheduled for Sunday, September 27, offering a modified experience for guests who may benefit from reduced stimulation.
“This year’s show features thousands of hand-carved pumpkins along a beautiful trail, with radiant light displays and immersive scenes at every turn,” said General Manager Norberto Urrea. “It’s the perfect way to kick off the Halloween season with family, friends, little ones, and the people you love.”
