Vertical Entertainment has just released the official trailer for DAUGHTER OF THE WOLF, produced by Minds Eye Entertainment and Falconer Pictures, and starring Gina Carano, Richard Dreyfuss, and Brendan Feh.
Synopsis: Following the death of her father, a military specialist returns from the Middle East to claim her inheritance only to find that her son has been kidnapped. She must hunt down the mysterious leader of the gang who is holding him for ransom.
Look, I always love me a strong female protagonist, and I’d love to see Carano kick some ass in those well-choreographed fight scenes. But the trailer alone practically gave away the entire film–not because there were spoilers, but because this is a story we’ve seen done to death. I envision Liam Neeson watching this and saying “hold my beer” as he hits the pause button on Taken-in-the-snow. And yes, it IS important that we create more female leads, which is why they shouldn’t just be rehashes of their male predecessors.
DAUGHTER OF THE WOLF will be released on June 14, 2019 in theaters & VOD.
