Knott’s Berry Farm has succeeded in creating yet another infectiously charming event with the new Peanuts Celebration going on now through February 25th. Based on the beloved Peanuts characters and their adventures that spanned over 17,897 comic strips from October 2, 1950, to February 13, 2000, Peanuts Celebration surrounds guests in the innocent charm of Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang through colorful photo opportunities, 5 brand new shows, a new character meet and greet, and a brand new ride overlay.
Of course, the first stop is food. Themed for the Peanuts Celebration, Knott’s culinary team has devised all manner of delectable delights, including the Charlie Brownie.
Peanuts Sketch School
Starting off at the Birdcage Theatre we have the Peanuts Sketch School. Lead by the charming Noel Cox, a former animator, guests get the chance to sketch a variety of Peanuts characters, with help from the artist himself.
The Music Goes Round and Around
The all-new day show, The Music Goes Round and Around plays at the Calico Stage and takes audience members on a musical romp from swing to rock and roll.
Lucy and Charlie Brown Balancing Act
Over at the Camp Snoopy Theatre, Charlie Brown and Lucy find fun and balance. This show really had the kids excited and they all seemed to be having a great time.
Lucy and Sally’s Fiesta Fantasy
Our second favorite show of the day, Fiesta Fantasy is a genuinely charming diversion into fabulous latin fun. With live music and interaction, the little niños and niñas seemed to love it.
Woodstock’s Musical Festival
Our favorite show of the day, Woodstock’s Music Festival was a wonderfully entertaining, family-friendly, rockabilly music show featuring the brilliant Jelly of the Month Club. Described on their website as “classy, smart, educational, and stimulating music. The band challenges developing minds to absorb a diversity of musical instrumentation, melody, and style while digesting taciturn and humorous stories, educational messages, and strong universal values.” While all of that is true, the music is just plain fun as is their amazing show.
Meet PigPen
For the first time ever, guests can meet and take pictures with the grungiest Peanuts character, Pigpen. Covered in dirt and followed by a cloud of dust, this happy-go-lucky fellow is in the Ghost Town stable with all of his animal friends, including adorable little piglets.
Beagle Bonanza
Another wonderful little gem was the Beagle Bonanza overlay of the Grand Sierra Railroad attraction in Camp Snoopy. With a brand new narration,
Again, you need to grab your season pass, and head over to the farm now through February 25th to enjoy the Peanuts Celebration!
