Former NFL star Phillip Buchanon is stepping into the world of horror filmmaking with Kreaster, set to screen at the Phobia Film Festival in Central Missouri on September 26, 2025.

The short film follows the chilling aftermath of a mass disappearance in a small town. When an unknown entity causes the entire population to vanish, a military officer and a civilian paranormal researcher are assigned to investigate. Their task centers on interviewing the town’s lone survivor, unlocking the mystery behind the disappearance.

Kreaster was developed by filmmaker Jacob Cooney (The Folic, Pitching Tents, Blood Circus), Buchanon, and Emmy-winning writer Bill Hanstock (Alien Predator, Megalodon: The Frenzy).
