The inaugural Reaper Film Festival takes over The Earl in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 22, 2026 — a six-and-a-half-hour night of independent horror and genre short films, an awards show, industry guests, a costume contest, prize giveaways, and plenty of room to meet filmmakers and fellow horror fans. Presented by Bloodstream TV, the festival runs from 6:00 PM to 12:30 AM at 4408 W 2nd St, Los Angeles, CA. The event is 18+.
The night is structured around three blocks of independent horror and genre short films, with social breaks between screenings. The Earl provides three rooms and an outdoor patio, so guests can move freely between the screening room and social spaces throughout the night. Horror characters will be present throughout the venue.
Reaper also partners with Women in Film to present the Scythe Award, created specifically to recognize women producing and directing horror behind the camera. The festival jury includes working professionals from projects including Terrifier, The Purge, The Umbrella Academy, and Scream Boat. The Grand Prize winner receives a direct opportunity to pitch a feature project to Bloodstream TV and Studio Dome for potential financing and development consideration. All Official Film Selections receive non-exclusive distribution through Bloodstream TV.
The festival was founded by Judah Ray (producer, screenwriter, director) and is designed as a Halloween-season event that works just as well for a night out as for filmmakers looking to connect with the industry.
Reaper Film Festival takes place Thursday, October 22, 2026, at The Earl, 4408 W 2nd St, Los Angeles, CA 90004. More info and tickets at rprff.com.
