OK, so we’re stuck inside. We have nowhere to go. Nothing to do… except abuse our Postmates app. And just about everything has gone virtual. Work meetings, film festivals, birthday parties… so why not plays?! Force of Nature Productions is proud to announce RUSHing in Place, their first-ever completely virtual RUSH play festival.
RUSHing in Place l features seven new plays inspired by “stay-at-home” songs delivered right to your favorite electronic device. Complete with random props found in the performers’ homes, some wacky backgrounds, and whatever costumes their closets had to offer, RUSH is art in it’s the simplest and purest form. And considering the subject matter, everyone will likely find a degree of cathartic relatability during these performances.
Writers include Evan Baughfman, Tyler Bianchi, Jeff Folschinsky, Tom Jones, Teresa Jusino, Benjamin Scuglia and Holly Sidell. The stories feature original music by Tricia Minty and were directed by Corey Chappell, Jennifer Novak Chun, Aurora Culver, Jonathan Fahn, Adam Neubauer, Sebastian Muñoz and John Wallis. Rounding out the crew lending their acting talents are Jonathan Andrew Agurcia, Heidi Appe, Bob Arnold, Jerry Don Chappell, Charlotte Cocker, Sara Davenport, Kyle Felts, Lara Fisher, Ron Gabaldon, Gloria Galvan, Georgan George, Anne Leyden, Paula K. Long, Camree Lynn, Susan D. Marlowe, Angelica Muñoz, Brian David Pope, LeeAnne Rowe, Graydon Schlichter, Melanie Shone, Mike Vert, Bobby J Watson, Anne Westcott, and Kristina Wetterman.
Virtual performances of RUSHing in Place will take place Friday August 21 and Saturday August 22 on Facebook at 8pm Pacific Time and the event is free to viewers. There is a link for Friday’s performances and Saturday’s link will be posted soon. Donations are suggested and gratefully accepted. All donations can be made via Venmo or Paypal. Additionally, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to benefit local organizations affected by COVID-19.
