Solo developer Rooted Elevation has released a demo of Saraab: Beyond the Veil, an Arabian mythology psychological horror visual novel, as part of Steam Next Fest’s October 2026 edition. The full game launches November 3, 2026, on Windows PC via Steam.

The story follows Elham, a schoolgirl whose brother has suddenly disappeared. To save him, she must confront her own demons along with those of lore, unlocking the powers of her bloodline as she goes. Each encounter, whether with monsters born of the night or fragments of her own psyche, brings her closer to the truth behind the abduction and to knowing who she is.
The game draws on djinn traditions and Gulf-inspired folklore, particularly from the UAE, and pays homage to the developer’s heritage. It offers hand-drawn anime visuals, a haunting soundtrack, branching storylines with three endings, and two guiding figures, Elham’s Shadow and Guide, who hold the keys to her awakening. It also uses the dyslexia-friendly Atkinson Hyperlegible font.
The demo covers the opening chapter, and players can wishlist the game now to be notified at launch. Watch the release date trailer below.
