Visions Home Video is celebrating the 20th anniversary of James Gunn’s cult horror-comedy Slither with an extended UK theatrical run and a new 4K Digital release beginning May 1, 2026, followed by a special limited-edition 4K UHD + Blu-ray Steelbook combo on May 18.

Slither follows a small town overtaken by an alien plague that transforms its residents into zombies and a host of mutant monstrosities. The sheriff (Nathan Fillion) and a local woman (Elizabeth Banks) race to put an end to the extraterrestrial nightmare before it consumes all life on Earth. The new 4K restoration has been made from the original 35mm Interpositive and approved by both Gunn and director of photography Gregory Middleton.
The film marked the directorial debut of James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy Trilogy, The Suicide Squad, Superman), and its cast remains a genre hall-of-famer: Nathan Fillion (Serenity, Firefly), Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games Saga), and Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy Trilogy). Twenty years on, the film stands as one of the sharpest, most gleefully gross entries in the creature-feature canon.

The limited-edition 4K UHD + Blu-ray Steelbook is available to pre-order now through HMV, Zavvi, and Amazon while stocks last.
Slither expands its UK theatrical run and arrives on 4K Digital on May 1, 2026. The Special Edition physical release follows on May 18, 2026. More information is available through Visions Home Video.
