Netflix has confirmed an early Season 2 renewal for Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, the animated spinoff that debuted on the platform this week and immediately cracked the Global Top 10 at number seven — placing it among the top 15 animated series debuts of all time. The Hawkins Investigators Club will return this fall to face a terrifying new threat lurking beneath their hometown.

Season 1 closed with the kids uncovering a fearsome mystery, and showrunner Eric Robles says Season 2 will pick up right where that left off. A new paranormal entity has surfaced from Hawkins’ abandoned silver mines, and the mysterious blue flower last glimpsed blooming in the Upside Down will figure prominently in what comes next. The core crew — Eleven (voiced by Brooklyn Davey Norstedt), Mike (Luca Diaz), Will (Benjamin Plessala), Dustin (Braxton Quinney), Lucas (Elisha “EJ” Williams), Max (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport), and newcomer Nikki (Odessa A’zion) — will be back to take on the threat together.

“Working on Season 1 has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” said Robles. “Now that it’s out in the world, seeing fans connect with these characters — whether they’ve loved them for years or are just meeting them for the first time — has been truly special. I’m excited to continue the journey.”

The renewal arrives as the broader Stranger Things franchise hits a new milestone: the series has now surpassed 1.5 billion total views across all five seasons since its premiere through March 2026. Eric Robles executive produces Tales From ’85 alongside the Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt via Upside Down Pictures, Shawn Levy via 21 Laps, and Dan Cohen. Season 1 also featured Brett Gipson as Hopper, Jeremy Jordan as Steve, Janeane Garofalo as Anna, and Lou Diamond Phillips as Daniel.
