Lightbulb Film Distribution has announced that the 1987 cult horror film Street Trash will receive a 4K UHD Collector’s Edition Blu-ray and digital release beginning April 27.

Directed by J. Michael Muro and starring Mike Lackey, Vic Noto, and Bill Chepil, Street Trash was originally produced on an estimated budget of $100,000. Now newly restored from the original negative for its first-ever 4K UHD release, the cult film arrives as part of a wave of classic movies on sale, giving fans a chance to revisit the notorious feature in a newly restored format.
Often associated with the so-called “melt movie” subgenre, the story follows two young runaways living in a derelict Brooklyn junkyard. Their already difficult lives take a darker turn when a batch of decades-old liquor known as Tenafly Viper surfaces at a nearby store, unleashing unexpected and grotesque consequences.
The Collector’s Edition Blu-ray is limited to 2,000 copies and comes packaged in a VHS-style box. The release includes more than five hours of newly produced bonus content, newly recorded audio commentaries, and exclusive artwork and printed inserts created by illustrator Graham Humphreys.
To mark the release, the film will also return to select theaters across the UK and Ireland for special screenings in May. Participating venues include the Prince Charles Cinema in London, CultPlex in Manchester, and Broadway in Nottingham.
Street Trash will be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray and digital platforms starting April 27.
