Cineverse has announced that The Morrigan will debut on Digital and Video on Demand platforms on February 3, 2026. The film centers on an archaeologist who specializes in Gaelic mythology and travels to a remote region of Ireland with her teenage daughter, where the release of a Pagan War Goddess forces them into a fight for survival.
The film stars Saffron Burrows, Toby Stephens, and James Cosmo. It is directed by Colum Eastwood and produced by Ashley Holberry and Gavin Cosmo Mehrtens under the Cowboy Cosmonaut banner.
The Morrigan began its festival run with a world premiere at the Galway Film Fleadh, followed by screenings at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the Tromsø International Film Festival. Alliance Media Partners negotiated the North American distribution deal with Cineverse and will represent the film for international sales at the upcoming European Film Market.
Director Colum Eastwood noted that the film draws on the stories and landscapes he grew up with, adding that partnering with Cineverse marked an important step in bringing the project to audiences.
