Production is set to begin this April in Florida on The Mourning Architect, a new independent horror feature written and directed by Joe Hollow. The film brings together a wide-ranging cast that includes Joe Castro, Debbie Rochon, Elissa Dowling, Debra Lamb, and Harley Wallen.

The story follows a former punk-rock icon who reconnects with her estranged daughter, only for the reunion to end in tragedy when her daughter becomes the unintended victim of a vigilante killer. That event draws both the grieving mother and the killer to a 19th-century mansion governed by an immortal entity known as the Mourning Architect, a figure who converts human grief into lasting creations. As events escalate, the film examines how loss, obsession, and vengeance intersect under supernatural influence.
Additional cast members include Rhonda Shear, Brinke Stevens, Joe Davison, and Nicola Fiore, with Hollow also appearing on screen.
According to Hollow, the film centers on recognition and familiarity within fear, focusing less on death itself and more on what remains afterward. The Mourning Architect frames grief as something that can become ritualized over time, shaping identity and behavior in ways that are difficult to escape.
