It feels like just yesterday when I was raving about THE HEX ROOM, the debut room from Cross Roads Escape Games. Its unique twist on traditional escape room fare was incredible, and even to this day, not matched in the rest of the escape room industry. Even their revamped version, which appeared for Halloween a few years ago, was wonderful, and really surprised us with all the great changes. Now, Cross Roads Escape Games is ready to take the escape room community by storm with the addition of their third room, THE PSYCH WARD.

If you’re like me, you’ve been impatiently waiting for it to open. We first heard about it well over a year ago, and owners Luke and Madison Rhoades have been toiling away on it, perfecting it, making sure it worked exactly the way they wanted. You may be asking yourself: “But why did they work so hard on it? Isn’t it just a simple escape room?”

Oh, no, my friends. It’s not.

THE PSYCH WARD is an immersive game of deduction and betrayal with escape room and immersive theatre elements. Set in a decrepit psychiatric hospital in the early 1970s, the game pits two teams competing against each other for the goal of getting the most points. The catch: they don’t know who is telling the truth.

That’s right, much like their unique style for THE HEX ROOM, where everyone has a role to play, THE PSYCH WARD pits you against your fellow friends and teammates. It will have you asking yourself if your friends are sane or insane, are they trustworthy or not?

Those are the exact questions that Dr. Griffin, the creator of this social experiment, wants you to answer. Some of these patients he believes are sane, others, completely insane. Like lab rats, he has put you inside his twisted experiment and challenges you to figure out who to trust and who to betray. But can Dr. Griffin even be trusted?

Luke and Madison Rhoades really upped the ante with Cross Roads, with THE HEX ROOM being one of the best, and THE FUNHOUSE following close behind. And much like the repeatability of their other games, THE PSYCH WARD will be no different, allowing you to come back to uncover more sinister secrets.

Guys, I am SO EXCITED to finally see this!

Cross Roads Escape Games is open Wednesday through Sunday until 11:30PM. The game is 60 minutes long, and for 5-8 players, over the age of 16. Tickets range from $32-$35 per person.
