Here we are, another week closer to Halloween, and we are psyched to bring you the 6th edition of the Universal Studios Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights Tracker. We’re friends now so you can call them HHN for short. After the announcements of both The Exorcist and Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield, Creative Director John Murdy has grown quiet. With the looming events of Midsummer Scream, ScareLA and Comic Con, they may be holding announcements until then. Despite the quiet, we have a lot of pics this week to share. Let’s jump in, shall we?

Auditions
As a reminder folks, Murdy and the team are still very eager to get some new blood into the ensemble. Scare actors and would be monsters of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to come give it their all at the auditions coming up.
Murdy, via his @HorrorNights twitter account said the following…
Still looking for tall performers to play Michael Myers and “other” characters. Auditions are tomorrow, sign up https://t.co/hd7LWZoGUV

C’mon people. Get out there!
Ghostbusters
Of course, with the release of the latest Ghostbusters movie, Universal CityWalk hosted the arrival of the Ecto-1 picture car from the film. We had to share that.
HorrorNights Twitter Feed
As we mentioned before, things went strangely quiet this week. No Q & A session with Murdy via Twitter, no announcements, hardly a trickle of info. Still, we hang on every word and, well, here they are.
The Exorcist…Halloween 2…Definitely some #old-school horror on tap for HHN 2016. Wonder what the next announcement will bring? Hmm…
— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) July 9, 2016
Unfortunately you’ll have to wait a bit to find out what’s next…at least a week…maybe more. It’ll be worth the wait. Trust me. : )
— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) July 9, 2016
I will give you a hint as to what’s next…it’ll be the maze code named “Doris Day” and…maybe a shocking surprise to go with it…
— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) July 9, 2016
The maze is code named “Doris Day” because the title of one of her movies, songs or albums is a hint to the theme…
— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) July 9, 2016
Went off site today to our warehouse to see the work our prop team has been doing on HHN…Halloween sequel, Exorcist, etc…
— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) July 15, 2016
Doris Day huh? Any guesses?
French Courtyard
We poke our heads into the French Courtyard and still, no progress here. Could they be skipping this location in favor of another spot?
The Exorcist
There are few mazes so far this year that we are looking forward to more than The Exorcist. John Murdy’s long-pursued property is finally coming to HHN on both coasts and we know that it is going to be one of the best things he has ever done. Imagine the years of sketches, the evolution of the ideas that have been floating around in his noggin. He claims that he wants people to know what it feels like to be possessed while making their way through and we can’t wait!
This week we see the façade of the attraction, which will be entered from the far corner of the show building of Revenge of the Mummy, is finding definition. The tall, Washington D.C. home where Regan is possessed will be the entrance to this highly anticipated maze.
We can practically hear Tubular Bells right now.
Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield
Okay. So, The Exorcist was what we had been waiting for. Then, Murdy and the team decided they were going to try to follow up last years best maze, Halloween, with the logical next step. Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield is the first full maze based on Halloween 2 which picks up right where the previous maze left off. This time we will be running from Michael as he chases us from Laurie’s babysitting gig to the hospital.
Maze 3
Down in the Backlot we see the further development of what appears to be a highly detailed façade for another yet-to-be-announced maze. The tent for this seems larger than others somehow.
Maze 4
Moving super fast are two other mazes, one of which is behind the big city backdrop. While the walls have gone up, the outside walls have not, allowing us a glimpse at some of the rough structure inside.
Maze 5
Finally we see another maze being constructed near the front of stage 747. Again, nothing announced so one can only speculate.
Terror Tram
We are beginning to get quite excited with this years Terror Tram. Murdy, via the HHN account, has said…
In pre-production for Terror Tram video shoot…cool original story….cool original character…with a little help from my…(????)
— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) July 14, 2016
Wow, so it’s an original concept. This means no Purge, No Walking Dead. YES!
And there you have it for the freshest, most up-to-date pics and info from Universal Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights. For a full park update please check out the article we put up on MiceChat’s In The Parks.
