And we are back to Universal Studios Hollywood for another round of pics, tweets and video to cover Halloween Horror Nights. Taking stock we now have The Walking Dead, The Shining, American Horror Story: Your Roanoke Nightmare,  The Titans of Terror Maze, Terror Tram: Titans of Terror with Chucky, Saw: The Games of Jigsaw, and Ash Vs. Evil Dead . That’s six mazes along with the theme for the Terror Tram. We still have two more mazes to be announced along with the scare zones. Still so much goodness to anticipate.

The Passport to Fear events are one-night, special ticketed meet-ups at the best haunts in southern California. We take you behind the scenes, introduce you to the creators of the haunted attractions you love, and march you to the front of the line. It’s a guided tour of terror sold only by HorrorBuzz.

Tickets to the four events are on sale NOW  here on the site.

Yesterday we hit the park to grab the freshest pics possible for you. We have also pulled tweets of interest from John Murdy’s prolific @HorrorNights feed.

Okay let’s get started.

@HorrorNights Tweet Round-Up

Mr. Murdy has again become a little quiet over the past two weeks. He has been loathe to precede announcements with the ominous, “By the pricling of my thumbs..” tweets lest he jinx something. After the Titans of Terror maze and Terror Tram theme were unveiled, he posted his cameo shot.

Aside from Q & A’s that is pretty much it that doesn’t directly relate to a maze or scare zone. So let’s get to the pics.

UPPER LOT

Entering the park we are lavished in Hollywood glitz and glamour. Proceeding down the entry corridor, we come upon the construction for what we believe will be retail and merchandise space to the right.

Woody Woodpecker y’all!

An awesome live band entertained the crowds.

Construction to the right seems that it will contintue the Hollywood theme.

Of course, The Shrek 4D attraction recently closed to make way for the new Dreamworks Theatre.

Bye Fiona!

We got our mummy

The question remains; Will Harry Potter be open for HHN? The world may never know.

MAZE 4 Waterworld Queue

Okay. So here we have what has been called Maze number 4 by Murdy in his tweets. Speculation is pointing to this one being the Titans of Terror Maze and we are thinking the ominous brick pillar might have a clue.

Tell us, oh pillar, what will be here!

Parisian Courtyard

Meanwhile in the Parisian Courtyard, a yet-to-be-named maze is coming along. Still, with less than a month to opening night, they are REAAAALLLY coming down to the wire on this one.

Terror Tram

The Titans of Terror with Chucky has been announced as the Terror Tram theme for this year.  The poor red headed stepchild of the line up, Terror Tram is amazing for first timers to the event, but for veterans, it is low on the totem pole. The Titans of Terror is a malleable enough theme to drape over the same trodden path, but we are just DYING for a bit of fresh design for this attraction.

Jason, Freddy, Leatherface, and Chucky driving the tram. well, seems legit enough.

Riding the tram to check on the progress of the build we always have to pass Norman and the Bates Motel. So welcoming, that Norman.

So cute, so damn stabby.

We can see piles of planks stacking up, staged and ready to be built into a maze. From the other side we see what has already been done.

LOWER LOT

Heading to the lower lot we go to check on the progress on The Shining and the yet-to-be-named maze.

Starway

Along the way we see that the Starway expansion is fully operational if not fully completed. This was a much-needed expansion and seems to really be helping with the flow.

The Shining • Maze #2

There really isn’t too much to see from this point forward until opening night. Still we know from Murdy that this one is almost in final props and nearly complete.

Jurassic Park Queue Maze

Almost at the same stage as The Shining maze, The JP maze (now wouldn’t that be something) reveals little more until opening night.

BACKLOT

Jumping out to the Backlot we now know all three mazes for this area. Definitely some great properties out here.

Ash Vs. Evil Dead

To be honest, this week we missed our shot at theAsh Vs. Evil Dead maze because the Jigsaw maze was wide open and we had a much better chance at getting a pic of that for you. Still, here is the promo video.

Saw: The Games of Jigsaw

We now know that Saw will be making its return to Halloween Horror Nights to coincide with the new Jigsaw film coming to theaters this Halloween. The Saw mazes have always been good for insane gore along with extremes in other scare tools like smells and climate. Gotta love when Murdy and Williams have the dial to 11 and can just go crazy.

The aged brick facade awaits victims.

Just so you know, these were the shots I got and not the ones for Ash Vs. Evil Dead. You’re welcome.

Maze 3: American Horror Story: Your Roanoke Nightmare – Backlot

The American Horror Story: Your Roanoke Nightmare maze really hasn’t shown too much progress since the last update two weeks ago. Here’s to hoping they hustle. Opening September 15th folks!

AAAnd scene.  This is going to be a pretty amazing year. With Jigsaw, Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Chucky, Jack Torrence, Walkers, Piggy Man, Deadites, and Ash, we have a lot to look forward to. Oh but there are still two mazes left…  See you in two weeks.

If you want the best possible night at any haunt, we suggest you join us for our PASSPORT TO FEAR nights at the best haunts in California. We have planned VIP nights at Knott’s Scary Farm, Queen Mary’s Dark Harbor, Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest, and Friday the 13th and the Winchester Mystery House!
