Drained, a London-based vampire feature co-directed by Peter Stylianou and Sean Cronin, has been acquired by Level 33 Entertainment for a North American release. The film will debut on Video-On-Demand platforms including Amazon, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home, among other premium digital channels.

The supernatural horror, which premiered at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival in October 2024, was shot in London and is a collaboration between Magnificent Films, House 54, and RG Films. Daniel Patrick Vaughan, cinematographer and producer at House 54, brought the production partners together for this project.

The film follows Thomas, a struggling post-graduate artist, who becomes romantically involved with Rhea, a mysterious woman revealed to be a vampire. As their relationship deepens, Thomas begins to suffer physically and emotionally, unraveling in a dangerous spiral.

The cast includes Ruaridh Aldington (Dirty Boy) and Madalina Bellariu Ion (Dampyr) as the central couple, alongside notable names such as Craig Conway (Dog Soldiers), Angela Dixon (Never Let Go), and Andrew Lee Potts (Band of Brothers). The creative team features Francesca Reidie on special makeup effects, Ellie Campbell as production designer, and Daniel Patrick Vaughan as cinematographer.

Cronin described the film’s visual style as a “neon-noir aesthetic,” capturing the moody atmosphere of London’s darker side. Stylianou emphasized the thematic depth, stating, “The film explores the addictive nature of modern society, reflecting how people are drawn into self-destructive habits, just as Thomas is consumed by Rhea’s world.”

Lead actress Madalina Bellariu Ion added a personal connection to her role, sharing, “Growing up in Transylvania, Romania, I’ve always dreamed of playing a vampire. The film blends fantasy and gritty realism, creating an unforgettable experience.”
