Are you ready to question your reality and put true fear to the test? The Unnamed Footage Festival (UFF) has announced it will be returning for a second year to shine a light on the subgenre of horror that celebrates Found Footage Horror, Faux Documentary and first-person Point of View (POV) Cinema.

The festival is slated to take place at the historic Balboa Theater  February 22-23, 2019 with a special opening night “Calibration Party” at the Artists’ Television Access (ATA) in the Mission District on Thursday, February 21. This year, the Unnamed Footage Festival will be expanding their subgenre to include Social Media Found Footage.

Unnamed Footage Festivals announcement comes at the heels of the alleged appearance of an unmarked box containing a collection of unraveled film canisters and a notebook filled with riddles and codes. With the help of local code-breakers and the town ‘busybody’ the notebook’s discoverers concluded the date of the location of the event. UFF claims the box in question had gone missing shortly after the first festival. They advised all who had come in contact with the box to wash their hands. If these rumors be true, these spooky delights may have even spookier ends.

UFF programmers are searching for new, old and lost films to screen at their event. “The stigma surrounding this subgenre is thicker than ever,” said a UFF spokesperson. “With our second year, we aim to prove that there is a well of fascinating found footage horror films to be discovered. Fans and new converts will be very excited to see what we’ve dug up, and how it showcases the merit and creativity of this filmmaking style.”

Submissions for UFF2 will be accepted until January 11, 2019. Short films (under 40 minutes) will cost $10 to submit, features will cost $20.

Submissions will be accepted through Film Freeway
