Vega Baby Releasing, a film finance, production and distribution company, has some amazing news! The company announced they have entered into a multi-picture deal with writer-director Justin Lee’s (ANY BULLET WILL DO) Papa Octopus Productions. The deal comes right after Vega Baby’s acquisition of BIG LEGEND, Lee’s most recent directorial film. BIG LEGEND will have a multi-platform release this summer. The deal was made by Sheldon Brigman on behalf of Vega Baby Releasing and Justin Lee on behalf of Papa Octopus Productions.
The incredible deal includes five, fully funded feature films which will be released across North America through Vega Baby’s current worldwide output deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The first film from this deal will be an action/noir titled HEAVY and is scheduled to head into production this summer. HEAVY centers on two hard-boiled detectives in a small seaside community that uncover a massive human trafficking ring.
BIG LEGEND is a Papa Octopus Production which is headed by Kevin Makely, Shawn Nightingale and Justin Lee. Shawn Nightingale and Marc Gold were Executive Producers on this film. Following the trail of his missing fiancé, one man finds more than he bargained for when teaming up with a local hunter who has his eyes set on the ultimate prize – finding Bigfoot.
